Our Principal Dentist, Peter, has a longstanding commitment to voluntary work. Over the years, he has offered his dental expertise in countries around the world. Today, Peter and the Wood Street team continue to dedicate their time and skills to providing dental care on a voluntary basis.
The Trust is registered in Kenya, and was founded by Kim DeWitt (picture attached), who grew up in Kenya. Peter has worked with Kim since 2010 on various trips around the country. Kim has a deep commitment to the most marginalised girls in the country.
The Olmalaika provides a refuge for girls at risk from FGM or forced marriage. There is also a facility for abandoned babies.
The Trust is Located in Sekenani on the edge of the Maasai Mara National Reserve. Since opening the Trust a Dental Clinic has also been built to help provide free dental care to all that attends.
Peter, alongside practice manager Kelly dedicate their time annually to help organise trips with other dental care professionals from the UK to go and provide dental care at the clinic.
